During Easter half term, the boys and staff at Hillcrest Poppy Lodge spent their week at Skern Lodge Adventure Activity Centre and had the opportunity to participate in activities such as zip wire, high ropes, coastal exploration and abseiling.
The young people enjoyed their time immensely and many experienced the excitement and thrill of the challenges and adventurous activities put before them. On Easter Sunday, all the young people and staff enjoyed an Easter egg hunt around the centre.
There was also the opportunity to go rafting down a Devonshire river. Despite the challenge and their fight against the strong tide, they all worked as an effective team to complete the tasks.
The group were able to explore their strengths and support each other to reach their full potential, pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones in a safe and secure environment.
The trip was invaluable in experiencing a family holiday and family values. The activities, group swimming pool and camp fire evenings toasting marshmallows became a great cosy family ritual.
